Journées Usines Ouvertes 2026: a successful event for TARMAC Aerosave
For the second year in a row, TARMAC Aerosave took part in the Journées Usines Ouvertes (Open Factory Days) on 20 and 21 March. A total of 220 people were welcomed to the Tarbes site (France) for guided tours of our facilities and presentations of our activities and our jobs.
Highlighting the dynamism and innovation of French industry
This free, nationwide event, organised by the Arts & Métiers Society of Engineers, offers a chance to discover local businesses and industries! It showcases not only the various professions and areas of expertise, but also the challenges and issues facing French industry.
The Journées Usines Ouvertes help to highlight the dynamism and innovation of industry whilst fostering encounters with the future talent of tomorrow!
A day dedicated to students
Friday 20 March was set aside for visits by school groups. For the occasion, TARMAC Aerosave welcomed 90 students from schools across the region, ranging from secondary school students to those studying for technical diplomas.
The day provided an opportunity to promote our activities and various professions to future graduates, through meaningful discussions with our experts and a hands-on immersion in the workplace. Inspiring careers by making our professions accessible and highlighting their value is the key challenge facing industry today.
Raising public awareness
On the second day of the event, Saturday 21 March, 130 visitors were given the opportunity to explore our Tarbes site on a guided tour and meet our passionate experts.
As behind-the-scenes roles, the storage, maintenance and recycling of aircraft and engines are often little known to the general public, despite being essential to the management of an aircraft’s lifecycle.
The Journées Usines Ouvertes serve as a real showcase for the industrial sector, both for the future talent of tomorrow and for the general public. Visiting the TARMAC Aerosave site in Tarbes would not have been possible without the commitment of the teams and staff, so a big thank you to them for sharing their knowledge!
