TARMAC Aerosave is taking concrete steps to make the aviation sector more sustainable

At a time when the green transition is becoming a major challenge for the aviation sector, TARMAC Aerosave remains committed to a green industry. We place the balance between operational performance and environmental protection at the heart of our priorities.

Implementing environmental initiatives

For several years now, we have been implementing a range of initiatives designed to reduce the environmental footprint of our various sites and, by extension, of the aviation sector.

Our aim? To optimise resource use, limit greenhouse gas emissions and promote the circular economy at every stage of an aircraft’s life cycle.

Sustainable water management

Operating in regions frequently affected by climatic phenomena such as drought, we have taken steps to reduce our water consumption. Rainwater harvesting systems have been installed to supply water to facilities such as toilets, amongst other uses.

This improvement helps to conserve a natural resource whilst optimising maintenance and recycling operations at our sites.

Recycling is a core activity at TARMAC Aerosave, which led to the creation of the TARMAC Legacy brand

Recycling is a cornerstone of our environmental strategy. Drawing on our expertise in aircraft dismantling, we are able to recycle up to 92% of an aircraft’s components.

This approach helps to reduce waste and promote a circular economy within the industry by giving components a second life. The TARMAC Legacy entity, established in 2025, marks a new milestone in our commitments.

Dedicated to the recovery and reuse of aerospace components from end-of-life aircraft, our new brand helps to extend the service life of equipment whilst reducing the consumption of new raw materials. 

Through these initiatives, TARMAC Aerosave reaffirms its commitment to playing an active role in the sustainable transformation of the aviation sector. These concrete actions demonstrate that industrial innovation and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand.
